Containing some of the world’s oldest, tallest, and largest trees, the Redwoods park is a sight to behold. Decades of unrestricted clear-cut logging and development nearly wiped the old growth Redwoods off the face of the Earth, before the park was established. Nowadays, only a small portion of the ancient trees still stand. A walk through an old growth Redwood grove is a walk through history, among trees larger and taller than you can possibly imagine. Along with the old growth forests, the park protects 37 miles of pristine coastline, housing endangered flora/fauna and one of the most diverse ecosystems in the state.
