Rainier

The sightline of Tahoma stretches far across the state of Washington. Standing at 14,410 feet, she is the most prominent and glaciated peak in the lower 48. Visible from over 100 miles away on a clear day, she is impossible to miss for any resident of Seattle. With 10,000 feet of vertical gain to be had from the trailhead to the summit, it is considered one of the most iconic climbs in America. The views from the summit crater are unparalleled. A climb of Rainier is a test of one’s mental fortitude, physical endurance, and sanity. Passing under towering icefall seracs and over bus swallowing crevasses, it is not a peak to be taken lightly.
